Organize a Camp
LEHRCP Eye Camp Support Policy
Who Can Be a Community Partner (Sponsor)?
Any individual or voluntary organization committed to community welfare can sponsor an eye camp. This includes groups like Lions, Rotary, religious organizations, NGOs, banks, hospitals, welfare clubs, and more. LEHRCP encourages self-motivated sponsors who are passionate about serving the community.
Sponsor’s Role:
- Venue Setup: Sponsors should arrange a suitable camp venue, such as a school, and provide necessary facilities like furniture, electricity, and water.
- Publicity: Handle local publicity for the camp.
- Logistics: Assemble patients, and if needed, provide lodging and meals for the medical team.
Ideal Camp Location:
- A village with 10,000-20,000 people, including nearby areas within a 5 km radius, is ideal for the camp.
- The venue should be accessible to nearby villages and not conflict with local events.
Sponsor Responsibilities:
- Community Mobilization: Organize a team of volunteers to support community engagement.
- Logistics: Provide boarding for the medical team if the location is more than 125 km from the base hospital.
- Transportation: Arrange transport for patients if the venue is more than 5-10 km away.
- Publicity & Manpower: Coordinate manpower and financial resources to promote the camp effectively, with guidance from LEHRCP.
